Time for a new Reviewing Indie! and this time, we had the opportunity to check out an awesome book before its release! It’s time to talk about Incision Issue 1 here at Comic Unknown. Created and Scripted by the duo: Jay Red and Billy Diamond Jr, the art, design and lettering was completed by Jay Red. Coloring by Maja Opacic and Page Flatting by Tom Adimos, the book will be published by Lesser Known Comics. This inaugural issue throws us into a dystopian world where regions are run by gang lords after an event called the HiJack. The HiJack event resulted in the transformation of certain individuals, causing mutations or enhanced abilities.
Following the protagonist which is later identified as Incision, the character's affiliation with a criminal gang starts to come under scrutiny and decisions must be made. The story serves as a heartfelt tribute to the comics of yesteryears with its awesome art style, characters, and action sequences. Reminiscent of the early 90s style, the narrative unfolds skillfully and in a steady pace throughout the story with an artwork that remains true to a broad color palette style, staying faithful to that era's aesthetic. As the series promises a total of five issues, the artwork for the second issue currently undergoing its final touches.
